A nice resolution to an episode that left questions unanswered. Well done.

Author's Response:

Thank you! I always felt like there was something they could have/should have done. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Very good story!  i liked that in two short stories you tell us about Jon's pain and doubt in regard to what he had done with the Illyrians and then give us the meeting with its the hopefull ending. Great last line.

Author's Response:

Thanks so much!  I'm really pleased that you enjoyed it. I've written a lot about Jon's pain after that encounter, and am so glad to finally be able to write a resolution.

I know I reviewed this at AO3, but I just have to say that I definitely would love to see this expanded as well.

Author's Response:

Thank you again! I will keep it in mind.  :)

I like this little ficlet very much.  It's somthing I think Archer should (and would) have done, and I'd hope that this is really how things worked out for the Illyrians.

I could see this being turned into a book-length story.  Maybe Archer doesn't get permission from Starfleet so easily.  Maybe Enterprise has a hard time finding the Illyrians.  Maybe it's harder to convince them that Enterprise means no harm because really bad things have happened in the interim.

This is why people on other boards who feel that there is no need for further Enterprise profic because they've taken care of the Earth-Romulan War and that's the natural end get on my nerves.  There are stories from the series that could be expanded upon as you have demonstrated.

Author's Response:

Thanks very much for your review, Glory! I'm very glad that you enjoyed it. It's a subject that's been in my head for a long time and finally found expression.

You're right that this would make a really interesting long story. Any of the scenarios you propose, or some combination of them would add intriguing other dimensions, and I'd love to read it!

And I agree that there is so much from the series that begs for follow-up. Their story is far from over.
