Yay!  I think this is the first time I've ever guessed the surprise -you gave it away a little bit with Hoshi blocking the doorway to her cabin.  There was bound to be somebody in there, and given your plotline it was always going to be the cap'n!

Still, it was a charming story, and stuck beautifully to their characters.  I've always suspected that T'Pol could be fairly ruthless when it comes to logic v regulations, and this is a plausible departure from the latter for the ultimate good of the crew.

A thoroughly enjoyable read!  Thank you!

Thanks for taking the time to review! It was going to be fairly obvious who Hoshi had with her given that it was me writing this. ;)

I was surprised to find that the story was just as much about Trip and T'Pol's relationship as it was about Hoshi and Jon's. It's funny how that works out!

Brava! What a great story about how certain members of the crew care about each other! And I didn't see that ending coming. Well done!

I'm especially impressed how you took the song as your inspiration, making both John and Hoshi appear shy with each other, with fits with their overall characterization. Taking it one step farther and having them delilberately acting that way was a stroke of genius!

Trip and T'Pol's conversations were sweet, and full of cute, intimate details, such as Trip making sure he got roses that had a scent because of T'Pol's sense of smell. I also loved some of T'Pol's comments, such as “I have often observed that what Starfleet doesn’t know won’t hurt them,” which gives her an out for disregarding what otherwise might be logical or expected. She's taking a more pragmatic approach. :)

Thanks for writing this. I'll have to come back and read this one from time to time.

Author's Response:

Thanks Kathy!

That means a lot to me that this is something you'd like to read again! I am glad you enjoyed it. The inspiration took some time in coming and I had several false starts that got scrapped. I am pleased with the way it finally evolved.

I just love this. You wonderfully captured the relationship between Trip and T'Pol. All their banter rang true, at least true to my vision of their life together. You put forth a warm and very loving companionship between these two.

Jon and Hoshi must be stealthy to put one over on their best friends. They are a couple that I have become very fond of. You painted a pleasing picture of them and their love. I'm glad they appreciated T'Pol's less than subtle efforts on their behalf. They had better fess up before T'Pol accidentaly outs them to the whole ship.

This was simply warm and wonderful.

Author's Response:

Thanks Bluetiger,

I am glad that you enjoyed this and that the TnT rang true. There were times when I was writing this that I was sure this would be a TnT story only. I had difficulty getting A/S in there but the final results seemed to work well.

And yes, they'd best let their friends in on their romance!

Awwww. This is adorable. T'Pol cares so much about Jon, this makes a very offbeat kind of sense. Love it!

Author's Response:

Thanks Honeybee,

Yes, T'Pol has a heart in that cold Vulcan shell. I thought that her doing something like this was so uncharacteristic that it worked.

I knew it! As soon as Hoshi didn't let T'Pol in. T'Pol makes a charming version of Cupid. Maybe Hoshi and Jon would tell her to prevent her from going crazy about those two. ;) You know, with all that tensions and those smells in the ari when they are around. But it was also fun to see how Jon and Hoshi keep their relationship a secret.

Author's Response:

I'm glad you saw what was going on so early! Jon and Hoshi should let T'Pol in on their secret so she can rest easy. Glad you enjoyed the story!
