I envy your knack for hooking a reader with a mystery. Already wondering what's up with Arkava and what these above-board people are hiding.
Oh, and this line was full of win:
“Why would we flee with the Vulcans' profits?”
Very well-delivered! Can't wait to get to the next chapter -- as soon as I get a sec.

So sweet, this turmoil that both Kov and T'Pol must endure, being Vulcan, yet also being a unique kind of Vulcan, being so very independent and curious by nature and trying to conform to a restricting code.
Once again you have created sympathetic characters, ones that we recognize, yet are different. And we are falling in love with them just as we did the RU Enterprise NX-01 crew!
Thanks, Tish! It's fun to see how the crew would do if their positions were switched around. :-D And yeah, I always thought Kov and T'Pol would have an interesting conflict from a story point of view: Both Vulcan, and they have things in common despite their very different personalities.

This is suspensful, fast paced, and unique in the new world with all the intrugue of codes, spies, underground, sabatoge! All the characters are well described, so we do not get mixed up with our RU crew, and I want to get to know them even better.
Looking forward to the next chapter!
Yeah, the E Crew has stumbled over one heck of a problem in this First Contact!
Sometimes First Contacts don't turn out as well as you hope. But our crew is persistent nevertheless.

This is a very interesting read - makes me think of Yom Kippur. I like how well you get inside T'Pol's head.
T'Pol has a lot of internal conflict regarding her identity as a Vulcan and her relationships w/various members of the E Crew.
The holiday is actually listed in the Vulcan section of Memory Alpha, but there are no details. And when I originally wrote this, it happened to coincide with Yom Kippur, so I thought it was so appropriate! :-D

Very interesting. I really like the idea of Kov and T'Pol serving together. I liked your use of Vulcan a lot, it flows very naturally into the story. Liked the idea of this special day as well. Looking forward to the next chapter.
I love languages, even "made-up" conlanguages like Vulcan and Klingon. ;-) It makes sense that T'Pol and Kov would think in their native languages and when T'Pol made her 'request', she deliberately use Vulcan because it was of such a personal nature. Kov picked up on that and responded in kind.
