I went to FedCon last year and met Scott. I was also alone, but it was cool. I had fun anyway, because people there were very friendly.
asearcher is right. Meeting Scott is one of the best experiences you could ever hope to have. For me it was not only extraordinary, but also unexpected. I'd never thought I'd get the opportunity to meet him, seeing as living in Eastern Europe doesn't exactly put me on the map of Trek-oriented events or Broadway plays. I'd only wished it for a split second or so, but I'd never expected to actually be given the chance to see him face to face. Needless to say, I was amazed when he was announced as a guest for FedCon, especially since I'd had my con ticket for about a year and I was going anyway. My early booking of the ticket also ensured a decent seat in the main hall where he had his Q&A panels, so I got to snap some nice photos as well. You can see them
here if you wish.
I was very impressed with how nice, warm and modest Scott was. He seemed genuinely happy to meet with fans, and was more approachable than I'd expected. He reached out to shake my hand, and he had this wide, bright smile on his face. I melted instantly.
Truly a great experience and he's a wonderful person. I'm very, very grateful I got this opportunity.
